Raising PowerMM to all and to Hazel Dawn who asked about raising power.I am looking forward to seeing what we all have to say about this. I have learned some fantastic techniques from others who have shared theirs. When I raise power it is after I cast my circle and invoke the Goddess and God. Starhawk had a wonderful visualization set whereby you visualize at each quarter the power of that quarter and then call it into your body. Briefly, for East, breath deep and be conscious of the air as it flows into you. For South be conscious of the electric spark within each nerve as pulses jump from synapse to synapse. For West, feel the blood flowing through your veins. For North, feel the bones of your skeleton. In other words, feel the power within yourself and then concentrate on building it up. I have the paragraphs for each of these visualizations in my BOS if anyone wants them posted. The above works for me when I am taking the time for a complete ritual. When time is the issue, I use the Tree of Life meditation previously posted. New Moon Occult Shop is the best place to source everything you need to do your own rituals. I recommend contacting them directly and asking for help finding just what you need as often they will source things they don't usually carry in stock. I do draw down the moon at every full moon that I need to perform magick. For me, it is a simple ritual done outside in the moonligt.Before I go out I reread the Charge of the Goddess to have it fresh in my mind and then kind of bask in the moonlight and raise my arms to bring the power down to me. Nothing very sophisticated. But I only do this when I plan on magick or where there will be a release of the energy, and a grounding of that which is left over. I usually have to have some definite intent to pull that power down. I have occasionally also done it when I felt in need of personal strength or felt my own life light fading a bit.
